A charmeuse knit is thin and lightweight. Charmeuse is a commonly used lining fabric. The material is smooth, elastic and falls smoothly. This makes it ideal for making petticoats, slips or other undergarments. Charmeuse contains stretch and can therefore be used as a lining fabric under flexible materials such as tricot.
