Satin Fabrics
Satin Fabric
Satin is a weaving technique that creates a shiny fabric through the use of the satin weave. In this weave, yarns are woven closely together. The weaving points do not touch each other, creating a shiny surface. By using shiny yarns against matte yarns, the bottom of satin is matte and the top is shiny. Common materials used for satin weave are silk, polyester and cotton.
What is the difference between satin and silk?
Satin and silk are quite often compared to each other. This is due to the similar shiny appearance of satin and silk fabrics. Yet, there is a big difference. Silk is a natural material, while satin is a weaving technique. The fabric satin itself can be made from the material silk. In addition, the production of silk is very expensive. This is not the case with many satin fabrics.
Why satin?
The smooth and soft surface of satin is skin-friendly,
making the fabric suitable for luxury bedding and lingerie.
The elegant sheen of satin is widely used for bridal wear,
gala wear and other festive wear.
In our collection you can find bridal satin,
semi-transparent satin, polyester satin and mixed fiber satin, among others.
